Let's Close The Opportunity Divide in Atlanta

The opportunity divide in Atlanta starts as early as birth. Families with young children face housing, health care, and child care costs that are increasingly out of reach. Many of Atlanta's youngest children are impacted by systems of inequity, stunting their ability to reach their full potential. No child should be deprived of their opportunity to thrive. We are working to change this and ensure that every child reaches their full potential.

How We Drive Change
Increase quality, access and affordability of safe, rich learning environments.
Promote public awareness and stakeholder engagement around the issue.
Build capacity to serve the health and wellbeing needs of young children.
Coordinate and connect systems impacting the well-being of children and families.

Our Impact

We help local leaders in government, education, community organizations and the business sector work together to support and fund programs aimed at providing high quality educational opportunities and resources for families.

We’ve raised over $20M for early childhood development in Atlanta. Our work reduced the cost burden of child care for over 200 Atlanta families and 300 children, supported 74 Atlanta-based child care programs with Repair and Renovation Grants, and put $1.75M towards supporting local teachers.

About Us

PAACT was convened by GEEARS: Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students and founded by a group of 24 Atlanta leaders from the public and private sector in 2018. Our members include the Mayor’s Office, Atlanta Public Schools, and the Atlanta City Council.

Together, this group developed a shared vision, bold yet actionable strategies, and the city-wide commitment needed to “make the PAACT” and work toward an Atlanta in which all children can reach their full potential.
