As they so often do, the Atlanta Early Education Ambassadors connected PAACT with the Grove Park Foundation.
“Three or four years ago,” recalls the foundation’s Director of Education and Community Outreach, Roy Cogdell, “we were at an event in the community and the Ambassadors had shelves of books for our young people. We were talking a lot about getting our youth to read and have a love for reading. And [PAACT] had not only the books available for free, but also had energized community members who knew about the mission. PAACT felt like the right partner at the time.”
With its focus on a cradle to career continuum achieved through economic development, education, mixed income housing, and community wellness, the foundation’s mission is, indeed, well-aligned with PAACT’s. And new grant funding is going to help them harness the power of our collective to connect more families to early learning spaces.
“Between your early childhood expertise, your advocacy experience, and establishing training models,” Cogdell says of PAACT, “I believe that you bring a lot to the table that Grove Park families need and will help them convene their power to help build a better Atlanta.”
We’re proud to partner with Grove Park Foundation as they grow their ability to turn trusted residents into informed early learning advocates.
